The Democracy Lab sponsors events that are in line with its intellectual focus:

  • Community-based work that addresses how people develop a sense of collective continuance or work to shape their circumstances together.

  • Media-based, grassroots production, analysis, or design-based work that addresses lived conditions, power relations, historicized understandings of present circumstances.

  • Courses that engage students and/or community members in work addressing movement-based work, critical design, collective struggle, envisioning speculative futures, relationships with land and water.

  • Exploring conceptual ideas, orientations, critiques, and/or extensions of our ideas about democratic practices, relations, or democracy broadly conceived (e.g., as a way/ways of reckoning collectively with difference).
